Soumak rugs do not have pile like a conventional rug. The wool is wrapped around the warp threads using a kind of emboidery stitch. Look on the back of the rug and there is usually lots of loose threads left hanging. This flatweave technique can be used to weave some very fine and detailed designs.
This rug is made in Iran. Look at the photos and see how detailed the design is. It's a remarkable amount of work. One day people will realise the real worth of these wonderful works of art. Just like a painting but a fraction of the cost.

RETURNS
Our rugs are delivered in a re-useable bag so returns are easy.
If you want to return a rug it's up to you to package it securely and arrange the return by courier. We make a full refund immediately when the rug arrives here in good condition.
If you would like us to make the collection arrangements using our courier service, we make a charge equal to the courier collection cost. It's usually no more than £20 for mainland UK. A bit more for Highlands, Island and Europe. This amount is deducted from the refund that we make on the rugs return.
